Day Trader's Alert: SIRI, F, ACTG

SIRIUS XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) rallied nearly 2% after it announced today that the company expects to finish 2010 with approximately 20.1 million subscribers, an all-time subscriber high for the company. SIRIUS XM's projection implies the company now expects net subscriber additions of approximately 1.3 million in 2010.

Shares of Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) rose nearly 1% after the automaker said that its September sales totaled 160,873, up 46 percent versus year ago.

Shares of Acacia Research Corporation (NASDAQ: ACTG) surged more than 15% after it announced today that its subsidiary Software Tree, LLC has entered into a settlement agreement with Red Hat, Inc. The agreement resolves patent litigation that was pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Civil Action No: 6:09-cv-00097-LED, related to U.S. Patent No. 6,163,776. The company also said that its subsidiary Light Transformation Technologies LLC has entered into a settlement and license agreement with Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. The agreement resolves patent litigation, Civil Action Case No. 2:09-cv-00357, pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. In addition, the company announced that its subsidiary Light Transformation Technologies LLC has entered into a settlement and license agreement with Dialight Corporation. This agreement resolves patent litigation that was pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
