General Electric (NYSE: GE): Sterne Agee upgraded its rating on the company to Buy from Neutral. Price target is $25

Brocade Communications Systems Inc (NASDAQ: BRCD): Robert W. Baird upgraded its rating on the stock to Outperform from Neutral, citing citing low investor expectations and checks that indicate improving trends in both Data Storage and Ethernet. Price target is $8.

SunTrust Banks Inc (NYSE: STI): Oppenheimer & Co. upgraded the company to Perform from Underperform.

BB&T Capital (NYSE: BBT): Goldman Sachs upgraded the stock to Neutral from Sell. The firm also raised its price target on the stock to $26 from $23.

Legg Mason (NYSE: LM): Ticonderoga upgraded the company to Neutral from Sell. In a research note to clients, the firm said  "The ratings revision is reflective of three factors. One, we are growing more encouraged with the outlook for Permal, LM’s fund of funds manager. Two, improvements in Permal and the broader equity market continue to drive higher revenue yields, which are more than offsetting the absolute level of outflows. Third, we have to admit that GAAP valuations are proving meaningless for LM. Note, our future estimates exclude estimated transition costs."
