Analyst Actions: RIG, MON, APOL, SYMC, DPS


Transocean Inc. (NYSE: RIG): Morgan Stanley on Monday upgraded its rating on the company  to Overweight from Equal Weight.

Monsanto (NYSE: MON): Deutsche Bank this morning upgraded Monsanto to Buy from Hold. The firm raised its price target to $78 from $75. In a research note to clients, the firm stated "Our meeting with Monsanto's CEO increased our confidence that the company is pursuing the right strategy of establishing its new corn and soybean platforms and rebuilding its reputation with farmers while raising prices only moderately despite record commodity prices. While Monsanto is leaving money on the table in the short-term, we believe its strategy will drive share gains and mid-teens EPS growth over the next 3 years." 

Apollo Education (NASDAQ: APOL): Goldman Sachs initiated coverage on the stock with a Buy rating and a price target of $54.

Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC): RBC Capital on Monday upgraded its rating on Symantec to Outperform from Sector Perform, citing positive industry checks that indicate improved execution, strong demand, and improving fundamentals. The firm raised its price target on the stock to $23 from $20.

Dr Pepper Snapple (NYSE: DPS): Goldman Sachs downgraded the company to Sell from Neutral. The firm lowered its price target to $37 from $38.
