F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV): Q2 2011 Earnings Roundup


F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV) said late Wednesday that its fiscal second-quarter profit climbed to $o $55.6 million, or 68 cents a share, from $33.1 million, or 41 cents a share, in the year-earlier quarter. On an adjusted basis, the company earned 88 cents a share in the latest quarter. Revenue rose to $277.6 million from $206.1 million. Analysts, on average, expected the company to report earnings of 85 cents per share on revenue of $277.5 million.

F5 Networks, which competes with Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO), makes products that help optimize and speed up Internet traffic within a network. 

Revenue from the Americas grew 38 percent while APAC revenue increased 68 percent year-over-year, the company said.

The company said that Japan revenue was down 6 percent sequentially and was flat compared with the year-ago quarter.
