US Hot Stocks: ERTS, YHOO, EK, FSLR, DF

Shares of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) rallied after NPD Group reported that sales of game software in the U.S. jumped by 26% in April compared to the same month last year.

Yahoo! Inc.  (NASDAQ: YHOO) slumped more than 3% as signs of tension with Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. raised speculation it may benefit less from part ownership of China’s largest e-commerce provider. Concerns surfaced after a May 10 Yahoo filing that said Alibaba Group spun off the lucrative Alipay online-payments business, and then deepened the next two days amid conflicting statements from Yahoo and Alibaba over Alibaba Group’s disclosure of the transfer.

Eastman Kodak Co. (NYSE: EK) jumped more than 5% after a U.S. International Trade Commission judge rejected Apple’s (NASDAQ: AAPL) patent claim against the noted photography pioneer. The ITC determined the two patents in question weren't being infringed upon and one was invalid. The full commission still needs to formally accept or reject the decision. A final decision is expected in late June.

Shares of First Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: FSLR) plunged more than 5% after German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the country’s subsidies for solar power may be too high.

Dean Foods Co. (NYSE: DF) soared more than 10% after Goldman Sachs Group Inc. lifted its rating on the company to buy from neutral.
