Earnings Roundup: KMX, LWSN, WOR, CONN


CarMax Inc. (NYSE: KMX) reported Thursday that its fourth-quarter earnings climbed 19% to $89.5 million, or 39 cents a share, from $75.4 million, or 33 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Revenue grew 23% to $2.25 billion from $1.83 billion. Analysts, on average, expected the company to report earnings of $0.38 per share on revenue of $2.17 billion.

Lawson Software Inc. (NASDAQ: LWSN) said that its third-quarter net income jumped to $21.40 million or $0.13 per share from $1.67 million or $0.01 per share last year. On an adjusted basis, the company earned $0.14 per share. Revenue grew 5 percent to $196.01 million from $185.97 million in the comparable period. Adjusted revenue rose to $197.9 million from $188.6 million. Analysts, on average, expected the company to report earnings of $0.13 per share on revenue of $194.15 million.

Worthington Industries Inc. (NYSE: WOR) announced Thursday that it swung to a fiscal third-quarter profit of $26.3 million, or 35 cents a share, from a loss of $17.7 million, or 22 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Revenue increased to $569.4 million from $451.1 million. Analysts, on average, expected the company to earn 26 cents a share, on revenue of $579.5 million.

Conn's, Inc. (NASDAQ: CONN) said Thursday that it swung to a fourth-quarter net loss of $3.39 million or $0.12 per share, from a profit of $1.69 million or $0.07 per share in the year-ago quarter. Revenue climbed to $213.39 million from $207.27 million in the prior year. Analysts, on average, expected the company to report earnings of  $0.02 per share on revenue of $214.6 million.
