Hot Stocks Of The Day: PUDA, NBR, TPX, STEM, BAS


Shares of the following companies are having unusual moves in U.S. trading.


Puda Coal Inc. (NASDAQ: PUDA) plunged more than 28% after contrarian blogger Alfred Little said that the stock is worth $2.66 at most and warned that the stock may be halted and may never reopen.

Nabors Industries Ltd. (NYSE: NBR) rallied more than 4% after Macquarie upgraded its rating on the company to Outperform from Neutral. The firm also lifted its price target on the stock to $37 from $25. 

Tempur-Pedic International (NYSE: TPX) surged more than 13% on Friday after the mattress and pillow maker forecast  first-quarter results and raised its full-year profit outlook. 

StemCells, Inc. (NASDAQ: STEM) slumped more than 9% after the company announced that it has discontinued its Phase Ib clinical trial in neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (NCL, also referred to as Batten disease), a rare and fatal neurodegenerative disorder in children, due to lack of patient accrual. 

Basic Energy Services Inc. (NYSE: BAS) jumped more than 12% on Friday, a day after the provider of services to the oil-drilling industry said that its rig-use rate climbed to 70% in March from 53% a year ago.
